Crown Apartments, Bedminster: urban apartments on an infill site

The site is located between the East Street Conservation Area, and Bedminster Green which is destined to see a significant change from a light industrial and warehousing area to a new residential quarter in the next decade.

Our design for Crown Developments provide 26 apartments in a four storey building that responds to context. Orientation has been carefully considered so that all apartments receive sunlight in their living rooms.

The building is constructed from an in-situ cast reinforced concrete frame supporting concrete floor slabs. External brick facades are supported by an infill metal framing system, insulated with using mineral wool. SuDs is achieved by a blue roof system with a wildflower bio-diverse roof.

The building has been designed with a communal heating system and provision to link to the future heat network.

The building was completed in May 2023 and taken over by Bromford Housing Association in its entirety.
