Nailsea: town centre apartments

This project re-uses part of the former Weston College premises on the edge of Somerset Square, Nailsea, as the basis for a development of apartments and a number of commercial units at street level. The new build element rises to six storeys above the level of the Square, with the levels across the site allowing for a lower pair of garden apartments.

The scheme, developed on behalf of Crown Developments, incorporates part of the former (and derelict) Weston College into an ambitious seven storey apartment building with commercial space on the ground floor. The new building will close off the fourth side of Somerset Square, which is the heart of the shopping precinct in the town.

Key to the project is the provision of 40 smaller and more affordable town centre apartments to address the lack of housing for younger people which affects Nailsea.

The project is the subject of a current planning application.
