Redland Parish Church Halls

With the need for additional and more flexible space, the Parish ran a limited mini-competition to choose an architect. O’LearyGoss were selected, and initially undertook an extensive briefing and feasibility exercise. The resulting new building has three linked halls which can be combined by retracting partitions to create a worship/function space with seating for approx 280 people.  It has a full catering kitchen and separate lounge area.

Large windows allow the light to flood into the interior which intimately connects the internal spaces with the surrounding green area.  Extensive use of glulam timber and a front triangular glass dome canopy give this energy efficient and sustainable building a comfortable but contemporary feel.

We provided full architectural duties at all stages with construction by Kitto under a traditional contract. The building was short-listed for the RICS Community Benefit Award in 2017 and given a Bristol Diocesan Advisory Committee Award in 2019.
