The proposed three storey building for Griffon Homes provides eight no. one, two and three-bed apartments. The site is quadrant shaped, at the junction of two roads, and the geometry is further complicated by a storey change in level along the principal curved facade.
The principal facade comprises a number of brick planes which follow the curved street line. These brick planes contrast with raised seam metal elements which define the entrance and top floor. The building is designed to have low energy use with on site renewable generation from roof mounted photovoltaic panels integrated with a biodiverse roofing system.
The project received planning permission in eight weeks in 2016 and is due for completion in early 2019.
